Newcastle United frontman Nile Ranger has made a switch to Barnsley on a loan deal lasting until January 14.
The 20-year-old, who was arrested last month for being drunk and disorderly, could be in contention to make his debut for the Championship side tomorrow against Doncaster Rovers.
"Nile needs to go out on loan and needs regular games to help his development as a footballer," Magpies boss Alan Pardew told the club's official website.
"He has real talent, the time is right for him to go out and play, and Barnsley have a very good player for a couple of months."
The striker was awarded his first-team debut with Newcastle in 2009 and netted his first goal for the Premier League side four months later.
