Newcastle United manager John Carver has admitted that he is "excited" by the transfer targets that the club have in place for the summer.
The 50-year-old recently revealed that the North-East outfit will strengthen the squad when the season comes to a close.
While Carver has refused to identify the players being looked at, the coach is confident that the new additions will boost the side in the 2015-16 campaign.
"Without naming any names I've seen some of the players they are talking about and I'm quite excited about them," The Northern Echo quotes Carver as saying.
"With the additions and what we have here, I think we can put out a group of players who could be competitive."
Carver's own future at St James' Park is uncertain as he comes to the end of his interim role in the summer.
