Marseille's season has gone from bad to worse with a shock Coupe de France exit at the hands of third-tier Quevilly.

The hosts stunned Didier Deschamps's men after six minutes when they took the lead through Julien Valero.

Issa Coulibaly produced a magnificent save to deny Marseille an equaliser on the stroke of half time when Rod Fanni's cross deflected off Alexandre Vardin.

Striker Loic Remy looked to have spared the visitors' blushes five minutes from time when he latched onto Andre Ayew's cross to level proceedings.

That goal forced extra time and Les Phoceens appeared favourites to go through, however Johan Christophe Ayina restored Quevilly's advantage in the 111th minute.

Once again Remy looked to have rescued Marseille by scoring his second of the game just a minute later.

However, it was not to be their day and Quevilly recorded a memorable victory with a last-gasp winner from Ayina.

The third-tier club now advance to the semi-final of the competition.
