Report: Louis van Gaal to be given £200m

New Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal will reportedly be given a £200m war-chest to try to get the side back in Champions League places next season.

New Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal will reportedly be given around £200m to spend this summer to get the Red Devils back in the Champions League.

The Dutchman was officially confirmed as United manager on Monday afternoon, and the Netherlands coach will be given a huge transfer budget by the club's owners, the Glazer family.

According to the Daily Mail, a number of Bundesliga stars such as Toni Kroos, Mats Hummels, Arjen Robben, Holger Badstuber and Mario Mandzukic are all on Van Gaal's shortlist, as he looks to return United to the top table of European football at the first time of asking next term.

The Red Devils finished in their lowest-ever Premier League position of seventh last season.
