Manchester United have reportedly opened up contract negotiations with Michael Carrick.
The 34-year-old's current deal at Old Trafford is due to expire at the end of the season, with some speculation having claimed that he may move on.
However, talks over a 12-month extension to those terms are now underway, according to The People.
The report adds that the Red Devils have also earmarked the England international for a future coaching role at the club.
Carrick joined United from Tottenham Hotspur for £18m a decade ago.
