Manchester United cannot afford to sign Juventus attacker Cristiano Ronaldo this summer, according to a report.

Cristiano Ronaldo will reportedly not re-join Manchester United during this summer's transfer window as the 20-time English champions cannot afford to sign the Juventus attacker.

The Portugal international's future in Turin is currently being called into question amid suggestions that he is becoming increasingly frustrated with life at the Italian club.

A return to Man United has been mentioned as a possibility, with the Red Devils thought to be open to the idea of bringing the 36-year-old back to Old Trafford in the upcoming market.

However, according to Sport Mediaset, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side would not be able to afford the overall package for Ronaldo, who is believed to earn in the region of £540,000 a week in Turin, while the Old Lady would allegedly demand a sizeable transfer fee this summer.

The report claims that the Portuguese is preparing to see out the final year of his Juve contract before seeking pastures new at the end of the 2021-22 campaign.

Ronaldo, who has scored 34 goals in 40 appearances for Andrea Pirlo's side this season, is also currently being linked with a return to Sporting Lisbon.
