Manchester United trio still out injured, Rafael da Silva to miss run-in

Louis van Gaal confirms that Manchester United trio Michael Carrick, Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones are out of the Everton trip, while Rafael will miss the rest of the season.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has confirmed that Michael Carrick, Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones have all been ruled out of Sunday's trip to Everton, while Rafael da Silva will miss the rest of the season.

The trio, as well as Daley Blind, were absent from the Red Devils' 1-0 defeat to Chelsea last weekend due to injuries.

Van Gaal has told MUTV this afternoon that Carrick, Rojo and Jones will not be part of the squad this weekend, and while Blind has not been ruled out, the Dutchman is a doubt for the encounter.

The United boss also confirmed that Rafael will not play again this season after the Brazilian broke his rib in the first half of the Under-21s draw with Leicester City on Monday evening.
