Kylian Mbappe is reportedly still a target for Manchester City, who are waiting to see if Paris Saint-Germain can sign the French striker from Monaco permanently.

Manchester City are reportedly ready to pounce if Paris Saint-Germain abort their plan to land Kylian Mbappe from Monaco on a permanent deal.

PSG are waiting to hear if they face Financial Fair Play sanctions, which would prevent them from signing £127m striker Mbappe from their domestic rivals as agreed.

The France international has impressed during his initial season-long loan spell at the Parc des Princes, playing a direct part in 28 Ligue 1 and Champions League goals.

Due to serious doubts over their ability to sign the 19-year-old, though, the Manchester Evening News claims that City are watching developments closely.

Pep Guardiola is said to be after a new forward player, and would rather bring in Mbappe than PSG teammate Neymar, who has expressed a desire to play under the Catalan coach.

The Citizens attempted to sign Mbappe last summer, only for the Parisians to trump their offer.
