Leeds United have reportedly expressed their interest in signing Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge, amid links suggesting that Kalvin Phillips could leave the club this summer.
Phillips, 26, is understood to have told the Whites' hierarchy that he would like to join Manchester City, while Paris Saint-Germain have recently joined the race for the Yorkshireman's signature.
Leeds have already signed midfielders Brenden Aaronson and Marc Roca on permanent deals this summer, but GiveMeSport claims that Berge has been identified as a potential target by director of football Victor Orta should Phillips leave Elland Road.
The report adds that the Whites have a good chance of recruiting the £25m-rated midfielder if Orta is given the green light to pursue a deal this summer.
Since joining the Blades for a club-record fee worth around £20m, Berge has made 66 appearances across all competitions, although several injuries have prevented him from featuring on more occasions.
The 24-year-old, who has two years remaining on his contract at Bramall Lane, overcame a hamstring injury at the beginning of the 2021-22 campaign and recorded five goals and three assists in 31 Championship appearances.
