Roberto Mancini admits that the lack of goals in his Manchester City squad is a problem.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has admitted that his side's lack of goals is a concern following the loss to Sunderland.

The 1-0 defeat to the Black Cats means that the defending champions are now seven points behind leaders Manchester United in the Premier League but Mancini claims that he will not sign a striker in January.

"We still have a big problem that we don't score, and we need to change," the Italian told the Manchester Evening News. "Maybe we need to play without a striker, or with just one striker. We need to do something. If we want to win this championship we need to score like we did last year.

"We have top strikers, but maybe we are too soft when we get a chance because we think we have good players and maybe we feel we will score the next chance that comes along."

Despite the points deficit, Mancini has insisted that his team can still win the title this season.
