Roberto Mancini has revealed that he never saw eye to eye with Manchester City chief executive Ferran Soriano during his time at the Premier League club.

The 48-year-old, who was sacked by City in May, has criticised the former vice-president of Barcelona by suggesting that Soriano was threatened by the Italian coach.

"Soriano? For him I was too big within the club," Mancini told Corriere dello Sport. "A manager in full control, loved by the fans still today. He judged a person and a context without knowing nothing of the people he should have dealt with.

"I never thought of him as an interesting person from a football perspective, we never spoke the same language. And I'm not talking about Italian, Spanish or English."

Mancini has also admitted that he is baffled by the former English champions' decision to sack him.
