Gerardo Martino pleased with Manchester City draw

Barcelona boss Gerardo Martino says that he is happy to be facing Manchester City in the knockout stage of the Champions League.

Barcelona boss Gerardo Martino believes that it will suit the Spanish outfit facing "a top-level opponent" in the Champions League after being paired with Manchester City.

City were arguably the strongest side that Barcelona could have met in the last-16 stage, but Martino is confident that his side will advance into the latter stages.

"You wait for the draw and then you have to play who you're paired with. Perhaps on the flip-side of this, few teams have wanted to play against Barcelona," he told reporters at a press conference.

"What we have to do now is be good and ready for February. For us, it's good to have a top-level opponent."

Barcelona currently sit top of the La Liga table.
