Liverpool will reportedly remain firm over their stance that Fabio Carvalho is not for sale this summer.

Liverpool will reportedly not be tempted into selling Fabio Carvalho during the summer transfer window.

Last year, it was reported that the Merseyside giants had committed to paying a fee of £7.7m to win the race for the then-Fulham playmaker, who had helped his club win promotion to the Premier League.

The 20-year-old was initially provided with regular opportunities by Jurgen Klopp, scoring in victories over Bournemouth and Newcastle United during his first month of top-flight action.

However, Carvalho barely featured during the second half of the campaign, throwing up the possibility of an exit in some form ahead of 2023-24.

RB Leipzig have recently been credited as admirers of the Portugal Under-21 international and have allegedly had one bid of £10m for his signature rejected.

One suggestion that emerged from that approach was a sale with a buy-back clause at a later date, a scenario which may have suited all parties with Liverpool keen to strengthen this summer.

Nevertheless, according to the Daily Mail, Jurgen Klopp is not prepared to cash in on the prospect at this stage of his development.

The report says that Klopp is open to allowing Carvalho to go out on loan, providing that the right club makes an offer for his services in the short term.

Burnley are allegedly among the teams who are monitoring the situation, the Clarets having already shown a pro-active approach ahead of a return to the Premier League by starting pre-season on Monday.

That said, Vincent Kompany is only able to loan two players from clubs in England's top flight, and they have already been credited with an interest in Manchester City's Sergio Gomez.

Other Premier League sides who can offer Carvalho regular game time will also be assessing whether to make a bid as Liverpool focus on improving their midfield options.

With James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita all leaving on free transfers, Brighton & Hove Albion's Alexis Mac Allister is on the brink of moving to Anfield.

Furthermore, it was claimed on Monday that Liverpool are willing to pay £30m for Barcelona's Franck Kessie, aware that the Catalan giants are willing to do business to help facilitate a reunion with Lionel Messi.
