Jurgen Klopp expecting to keep Philippe Coutinho

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp does not think that Philippe Coutinho will be sold to Barcelona in this summer's transfer window.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is confident that Philippe Coutinho will not be sold to Barcelona in this summer's transfer window.

The Spanish giants are yet to reinvest the £200m that they received when Neymar completed a world-record move to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month.

Coutinho has been strongly linked with a move to Camp Nou, with reports claiming that the 25-year-old has handed in a transfer request in a bid to force a move to Camp Nou.

However, Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group recently insisted that Coutinho would not be leaving Anfield, and Klopp has revealed that he still believes that to be the case.

"You'll have to ask the club. I didn't see the club today - the decisive people - but I don't think so because I think it was pretty clear what the club, FSG, said about it," Klopp told Sky Sports News.

"I can say something that is maybe a more important thing. As a manager of a football club I have bosses, and if bosses decide, for example, just in general, to sell a player or we don't sell him, then I have to accept it.

"If they don't sell him, then I'm not involved anymore. I'm responsible for all players, not just one, two or three. I cannot say anything about it. The only thing is I work with the players I have - that is what I'm always doing."

Coutinho did not feature in Liverpool's 3-3 draw with Watford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
