Nigel Pearson disappointed by defeat at Charlton Athletic

Pearson disappointed by defeat
Nigel Pearson speaks of his disappointment after seeing his Leicester City side lose to Charlton Athletic in the Championship this afternoon.

Nigel Pearson was left disappointed after his Leicester City side were beaten in the Championship by Charlton Athletic 2-1 at The Valley this afternoon.

The visitors left London empty handed after conceding two goals from corners and saw Matty James sent off for a second bookable offence.

"It's our first disappointment of the season," he told the club's official website. "That's the way we have to approach it.

"We were a little but slow in terms of have we moved the ball in the first half and they were a very direct side - set plays were always going to be a threat for them.

"We've got off to a pretty good start, the points return is okay, there is room for improvement but I've been generally very pleased with how the players have applied themselves so far."

Leicester host Wigan Athletic in the Championship on September 14.
