Leeds United players 'not received wages on time'

The Leeds United players reportedly do not receive their wages for March as expected on Friday morning.

The Leeds United players have reportedly not received their wages as expected on Friday.

The ownership of the club continues to remain in limbo after the Football League blocked Italian businessman Massimo Cellino's bid to acquire a 75% stake in the club.

The 57-year-old failed the league's Owners' and Directors' Test after he was found guilty of tax evasion in an Italian court earlier this month.

Reports have suggested that current owners Gulf Finance House Capital and Cellino are in dispute over who will fund the wages for March due to the current status at Elland Road.

According to Yorkshire Evening Post reporter Phil Hay, the general staff have received their wages, but none of the players have been paid as expected this morning.

Amid the reports, Leeds forward Ross McCormack wrote on Twitter: "Regardless what's going on we have a game tomorrow which us as players owe to every1 including ourselves to go out and win! Off to training."

Leeds are currently 14th in the Championship table.
