Hearts boss Gary Locke draws positives from Celtic defeat

Hearts manager Gary Locke draws positives from his side's 2-0 defeat to Celtic.

Hearts manager Gary Locke has insisted that there were positives to draw from his side's 2-0 defeat to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.

Second-half goals from Leigh Griffiths and Teemu Pukki sealed the points for the Hoops, but the Jambos boss noted improvement in his team's performance.

"I thought we put them under a lot of pressure in the second half," PA quotes him as saying.

"We put a lot of balls into the box but credit to their two big centre-backs and their keeper, they defended well.

"But there were a lot of positives for me. The last time Celtic came here it was a no contest, but the players are improving all the time and we have more than matched the best team in the country."

Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster set a new Scottish shutout record in the contest, having not conceded since November en route to keeping 13 consecutive clean sheets.
