Former England boss Fabio Capello issues a warning to his successor Roy Hodgson.

Former England boss Fabio Capello has issued a warning to his successor Roy Hodgson about the size of the task in hand.

Hodgson has less than a month before he must submit his squad for the Euro 2012 finals, and the Italian does not believe there is enough time to build team spirit.

"It's not a normal job. It's difficult to create something. You can't do something in a short space of time, "The Sun quotes Capello as saying.

"The idea is to create the team spirit and winning mentality in a really short time. This is very difficult."

Capello went on to say that he is happy with the job he did at England, and hopes that fans give him credit if the team finds success at this summer's tournament.

"I've known Roy since he coached in Italy. He's a very good and experienced manager," he added. "I'm happy with the job I did for England. I hope they will be one of the best teams at the Euros and can show my job was really good.

"If things go well, as I hope, people will recognise that I did a good job."

England will kick off their Euro 2012 campaign against France on June 11.
