Petr Cech: 'We need to beat Greece'

Petr Cech describes Czech Republic's must-win game against Greece as "decisive" if they are to stay in the tournament.

Petr Cech has warned his Czech Republic teammates that they will be out of Euro 2012 if they fail to beat Greece in their next game.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper was part of the Czech side that lost their opening Group A game against Russia 4-1 on Friday night.

Michal Bilek's side will now have to win their second game against Greece on Tuesday if they are to have any hope of staying in the tournament. Cech has described the game as "decisive".

"The game did not go as planned," said the Chelsea goalkeeper. But at the same time, during the 2006 World Cup we started with a 3-0 victory against the United States and we did not qualify from the group.

"The next step is to win the next game. The first game sometimes gives an indication of the group but the second game will be decisive.

"If we fail, our chances of reaching the quarter-finals will be small."

Cech has earned 91 caps for the Czech Republic since his debut in 2002.
