Former Queens Park Rangers midfielder Trevor Sinclair is adamant that Chelsea star John Terry is innocent of racism allegations.
It emerged yesterday that the Metropolitan Police have launched a separate investigation into the racism row surrounding the defender and QPR's Anton Ferdinand.
Despite claims that the Chelsea and England captain racially abused Ferdinand during the London derby a fortnight ago, Sinclair finds it hard to believe.
"I was with John Terry in the summer and I couldn't honestly imagine a more chilled out guy, when it comes to different cultures," Sinclair told talkSPORT.
"He's not racist. If he's said something that's not accepted, it wouldn't be racist, it would be maybe just to try and upset the opposition.
"I'm not condoning any kind of racist comments but what I am saying is that I don't think John Terry is a racist. He uses everything he can to try and win a game for his club."
The Football Association are expected to announce the results of their investigation into the racism row later this week.
