Birmingham defender David Murphy is confident that the club can overcome Chelsea in their FA Cup fifth-round replay.

Birmingham City defender David Murphy has insisted that the Championship club can beat Chelsea in their FA Cup replay, after holding the Blues to a 1-1 draw in their fifth-round clash on Saturday afternoon.

The 27-year-old defender was on target for the away side before Daniel Sturridge struck just past the hour mark to tie the game at 1-1.

Murphy, however, does not believe that their chance has been missed and is confident they can secure a positive result at St Andrew's.

"Why not? We've got an unbeaten home record this season and we are looking to continue that. It will be a massive game at our place. We know the qualities that they have. We know it's going to be difficult," Murphy told ESPN.

"It shows the togetherness we have got in the squad. It is a very small squad, but we are all fighting for each other."

Birmingham currently sit sixth in the Championship table.
