Eden Hazard named Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year

Chelsea winger Eden Hazard is named Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year.

Chelsea winger Eden Hazard has been named as the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year.

The Belgian won 53% of the vote to beat Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane and Blues teammate John Terry to the award.

Hazard, 24, has played a key role in Chelsea's Premier League title win, scoring 14 goals and contributing eight assists in 36 games.

"The majority [of FWA members] looked at Hazard's contribution to Chelsea's title-winning season - magnificent that it was - and decided that he was the man, the pivotal man, in Chelsea's victorious season and they gave it to Hazard," FWA chairman Andy Dunn told Sky Sports News.

Hazard also recently won the Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year award.
