Napoli striker Edison Cavani calls for focus ahead of their Champions League tie with Chelsea on Tuesday.

Napoli striker Edison Cavani has stated that "anything can happen on the field" ahead of the Italian club's Champions League encounter with Chelsea on Tuesday.

The Uruguay striker commented following Napoli's 3-0 win over Fiorentina on Friday evening, a result which moved them into fifth in Serie A.

"The first thing that comes to mind after tonight's game is this is the way we have to play against Chelsea. This is the attitude we must have for that game," Cavani told II Corriere dello Sport.

"From now, we will be thinking about a challenge that will be very tough. Every minute till then will be very important for our recovery.

"This is football and in football you never know. Many thought Napoli could not produce what we have done in the Champions League. The game is 90 minutes and the ball is round – anything can happen on the field."

Cavani has struck 22 goals for Napoli this season.
