Gary Cahill: 'I'm still improving at Chelsea'

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill believes that he is still improving as a player due to the teammates he trains with at the club.

Gary Cahill has insisted that he is still improving as a player as he looks to win the Premier League title for the first time in his career.

The England defender, who joined Chelsea from Bolton Wanderers in January 2012, believes that he has benefited from a consistent run in central defence under Jose Mourinho.

"I think I have improved since joining the club. Chelsea gave me the opportunity to do that because, without being disrespectful, I was playing in the Premier League and it was great, but you go to Chelsea and play at the next level," Cahill told the Evening Standard.

"For me to practise against Fernando [Torres], Oscar, [Eden] Hazard and Willian. The list goes on, you don't come up against much better.

"At the minute, consistency is there for me because I have been able to play so many games back to back."

Chelsea are currently top of the Premier League following the 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday.
