Cardiff City move up into sixth place with a 2-1 win against Southampton.

Cardiff City have moved into the Championship playoff places with a 2-1 win at home to league leaders Southampton.

Kenny Miller gave the Bluebirds the lead after 56 minutes when he latched on to a David Marshall long ball before looping a header into the Saints' net.

The Scot doubled his side's lead seven minutes later when he fired in low from the edge of the area.

Steve De Ridder got on the end of Rickie Lambert's flick deep into injury time to give the visitors hope, but it was too little too late.

Malky Mackay's side leap into sixth place in the table, while Nigel Adkin's men stay top after Middlesbrough drew at home to Leicester City.
