Bournemouth midfielder Joe Partington signs a fresh two-year deal with the club.

Bournemouth midfielder Joe Partington has signed a fresh two-year deal with the club.

The 23-year-old missed the final six weeks of last season due to injury as Eddie Howe's side secured promotion to the Championship.

Partington has said that he is looking forward to continuing his development under the Cherries coaching staff.

"I can't wait to get going again once I'm fit. The gaffer has come back and he sees me as a defender, which is something I completely agree with," he told Bournemouth's official website.

"I love working with him and [assistant manager] Jason [Tindall] on the training ground. Obviously, they played at the back and have great knowledge, so I've really enjoyed learning from them.

"It's a bit strange for me at the moment with not being able to join in straight away, but hopefully I can be involved at the end of pre-season."

Partington has made 58 appearances for Bournemouth.
