Blackpool reportedly reject an approach from Blackburn Rovers to speak to Michael Appleton over becoming the club's new permanent manager.

Blackpool have reportedly rejected Blackburn Rovers' attempts to speak to manager Michael Appleton about moving to Ewood Park.

The former Premier League side, who are in the hunt for a new boss following the recent dismissal of Henning Berg, made an official approach to their fellow Championship side yesterday.

While no confirmation has been made, it is understood that Blackpool have rebuffed Blackburn's advances, according to BBC Sport journalist Ben Smith.

Appleton moved to Bloomfield Road from struggling League One side Portsmouth in November last year.
