Lionel Messi 'set to miss three games through injury'

Barcelona will be without the injured Lionel Messi for their next three matches, according to a report.

Barcelona will reportedly be without the injured Lionel Messi for their next three matches.

The Argentina international made his first start of the season against Villarreal on Tuesday night after bouncing back from a calf problem, but the attacker picked up an adductor injury in the first period.

Barca have since confirmed the injury blow, although the Spanish champions did not put a timeframe on the 32-year-old's potential return.

According to AS, Messi is set to miss this weekend's La Liga clash with Getafe, in addition to the Champions League meeting with Inter Milan on Wednesday night.

The report claims that the South American is also a huge doubt for next weekend's home game against Sevilla as he looks to overcome his latest issue.

Barca have lost two of their six league matches this season but are only four points off division leaders Real Madrid ahead of this weekend's trip to Getafe.
