Barcelona have revealed that Samuel Umtiti will spend three weeks on the sidelines with a torn hamstring.

The 22-year-old, who joined the Spanish giants from Lyon in the summer transfer window, suffered the injury during France training on Wednesday afternoon and has returned to his club to begin his recovery.

"We can confirm that first-team player Samuel Umtiti has a torn hamstring in his left leg and will be out for approximately three weeks," read a statement from the La Liga champions.

Umtiti, who is now a doubt for the first Clasico of the season on December 3, has made nine appearances for Barcelona this campaign, including three in the Champions League.
