Tim Sherwood: 'Survival won't be easy for Aston Villa'

Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood warns his players that they still have plenty of work to do in their bid to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood has warned his players that Premier League survival 'will not be easy' despite their win over West Ham United.

The Villans are four points clear of danger with two games left to play thanks to Saturday's 1-0 victory over the Hammers at Villa Park.

However, Sherwood now wants his side to seal their top-flight status with a win at Southampton this weekend.

"Nothing will be easy. There is still a lot of hard work to be done, but the win against West Ham was a good step towards it," he told the club's official website. "We always look at the next one. It's a tough game away at Southampton. We obviously will go there to win."

Saturday's triumph over West Ham was Villa's second consecutive victory in the league.
