Emile Smith Rowe: 'I rejected Barcelona'

Arsenal teenager Emile Smith Rowe reveals that he has previously rejected interest from Barcelona.

Arsenal teenager Emile Smith Rowe has revealed that he has previously rejected interest from Barcelona.

Smith Rowe, 18, has made the breakthrough into the Arsenal first team this season and signed a new long-term contract with the Gunners over the summer.

The attacker has claimed that Barcelona were previously interested in his services, but he is convinced that Arsenal is "the right club".

"I used to watch that Barcelona team, Xavi, [Andres] Iniesta, [Lionel] Messi, when they were in their prime," Smith Rowe told Sky Sports News.

"So when I found out that they were interested of course I was very happy, but I can't explain to you how much I feel that Arsenal is the right club for me."

Smith Rowe has scored three times in six Arsenal appearances during the 2018-19 campaign.
