Andrey Arshavin has revealed that he wants to return to Arsenal following the completion of his loan spell with Zenit St Petersburg.

The 30-year-old re-signed for his former club until the end of the season in February.

The Russian international had previously explained that his decision to temporarily return to his homeland was to cement his place in his nation's Euro 2012 squad.

He has now confirmed that, following the championships in Poland and the Ukraine, he is keen to continue his career at the Emirates Stadium.

"Of course, yes," Arshavin told RT Sports when asked if he would return to the Gunners in the summer.

"Every player does not want to sit on the bench or the stands and watch the action from there. When I was at Arsenal, I always wanted to play and not sit on the sidelines watching everything unfold.

"I'm used to living in London and while I am on loan at Zenit my family has stayed in London, because my children go to school there and everybody feels comfortable there."

11 of Arshavin's 19 Premier League appearances this season were as a substitute.
