Arsenal star Mesut Ozil left out of Germany squad for upcoming internationals

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil is left out of Joachim Low's Germany squad for upcoming internationals against San Marino and Italy.

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has been left out of Joachim Low's Germany squad for upcoming internationals.

The 28-year-old has been in fine form for the Gunners in recent weeks, but Low has opted to rest him for a World Cup qualifier against San Marino and a friendly with Italy.

In Thursday's press conference, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, who is preparing for Sunday's North London derby against Tottenham Hostpur, told reporters that it would be an "intelligent decision" not to call up Ozil.

Meanwhile, Serge Gnabry has been handed his first call-up to the senior squad since signing for Werder Bremen from Arsenal in August.
