Arsenal's Jack Wilshere suffers injury setback

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger confirms that Jack Wilshere has suffered a setback in his recovery from injury.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Jack Wilshere has suffered a setback in his recovery from injury.

The midfielder has been out of action with a hairline fracture that he picked up earlier in the campaign.

Wenger has admitted that he was hopeful of Wilshere facing Stoke City this weekend, but he is now unsure when the England international will return.

"I expected Jack to be back and available and it's slower than expected," Goal.com quotes the Gunners boss as saying.

"He had a little setback, I don't know quite what. I have to talk to my medical staff."

Wilshere made just 14 Premier League appearances last season due to injury.
