Arsene Wenger delivers Wilshere warning

Arsene Wenger says that the next three weeks are decisive in determining whether or not Jack Wilshere will go to the Euro 2012 tournament.

Arsene Wenger has said that it will be "impossible" for Jack Wilshere to compete at Euro 2012 should he not play for Arsenal before the season ends.

The 20-year-old has not featured for the Gunners this season after suffering from ankle and heel problems.

Wilshere has suffered a series of setbacks which have blighted his comeback from injury.

Wenger has now said that it is make or break as to whether he can play for his country in Poland and Ukraine.

"We will know in the next two or three weeks," said the Frenchman. "We try to keep hope alive for him but without taking too many risks and that means adapting day to day, improving his physical situation and getting him fit as quickly as possible without taking too big a risk.

"That means whenever he feels any pain, we have to stop him. The fact is we are now at the start of April. To go into a competition at the end of the season without playing at all is impossible.

"So the next three weeks will be decisive. By the end of April, a player who wants to play in June has to be competitive. The next three weeks will decide if he can go to the Euros."

Wilshere has earned five international caps.
