Younes Kaboul injury 'not very serious'

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas reveals that Younes Kaboul should only miss a week or two with the injury he sustained during this evening's 2-0 win over Anzhi.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that the injury suffered by Younes Kaboul in their match against Anzhi Makhachkala this evening is not serious.

Kaboul was forced off in the second half of Tottenham's 2-0 win over the financially-stricken Russian club, being replaced by Michael Dawson in the centre of defence.

The Frenchman has been dogged by injuries over the last year or so, but Villas-Boas believes that this latest setback should only keep him on the sidelines for one or two weeks.

"It's a bit of a problem because of his injury in the knee it has taken him time for his body to adapt to new positions on his run," Villas-Boas is quoted as saying by PA.

"Because of that he's putting extra strain on his muscles and keeps getting small contractions that limit him finishing the games. At the moment it doesn't look very serious but it will force him to stop for a week or so.

"When we get him back we will give him a one-week or two-week preparation to be physically better."

Spurs, who now lead Group K by four points after just two games, will return to domestic action against West Ham United on Sunday.
