Roma signalled their title ambitions by earning a 2-1 victory over Juventus at the Stadio Olimpico.

Miralem Pjanic almost broke the deadlock in the first half when his powerful strike crashed against the post.

The Bosnian did manage to hit the back of the net just after the hour mark with a curling free kick that found the top corner.

Patrice Evra was then sent off for the visitors for a second bookable offence, before Edin Dzeko headed Roma into a two-goal lead.

Paulo Dybala soon pulled a goal back for Juventus with a close-range finish, and they were denied an equaliser in stoppage time when Wojciech Szczesny kept out Leonardo Bonucci's header.
