Real Salt Lake, Los Angeles Galaxy share the spoils

Real Salt Lake and Los Angeles Galaxy pick up a point each from their MLS clash at the Rio Tinto Stadium.

Real Salt Lake and Los Angeles Galaxy have played out a 1-1 draw at the Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah in the MLS.

The hosts surged ahead in the 19th minute through Alvaro Saborio, who turned in Joao Plata's delivery from close range.

Galaxy restored parity on 34 minutes when Robbie Keane latched onto Juninho's pass and fired home past goalkeeper Nick Rimando.

Rob Friend missed from a good position for the visitors before the break, while Real's Ned Grabavoy had an effort saved just before the hour mark.

Saborio had a chance to double his tally midway through the second half, while Galaxy's Baggio Husidic squandered an opportunity late on.
