Colorado Rapids came from behind twice to earn a point in their MLS clash with Real Salt Lake, as a lightening strike delayed play by 30 minutes inside Dick's Sporting Goods Park.

The visitors took the lead after just 80 seconds as Kyle Beckerman's cross from the right was turned in from close range by Ned Grabavoy, who coasted unmarked into the penalty area before applying the finish.

However, the Rapids were level within minutes as Deshorn Brown latched onto a hopeful ball over the top of the defence by beating Nick Rimando to it and lifted a shot over the keeper into the net.

Salt Lake were then awarded a penalty as Robbie Findley was fouled by Drew Moor in the area, but the spot kick was delayed as the referee took the players off the pitch due to lightening strike in the surrounding area.

After a 30-minute delay, Alvaro Saborio found the net from the spot, drilling the ball low into the bottom corner.

The Rapids were then denied a way back into the game by Rimando, who made a brilliant one-handed stop to prevent Edson Buddle's strike from finding the net.

After the break, Rimando was called into action again as he made another fantastic stop to deny Jaime Castrillon's headed effort.

However, Castrillon was not to be denied as Colorado got their equaliser when he headed home Chris Klute's cross from the left past a stranded Rimando.

The Rapids had a great chance to win the game in the dying minutes when Shane O'Neill found space in the box to power an effort at goal, but Rimando was there to make another great stop to earn a point for his side.
