Sergio Ramos, Marcelo out of Real Madrid squad

Neither Sergio Ramos nor Marcelo will travel with the Real Madrid squad for Wednesday's Champions League Group A clash against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Sergio Ramos and Marcelo have both been left out of the Real Madrid squad for Wednesday's Champions League Group A clash against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Ramos has been nursing a shoulder problem in recent weeks and has largely been playing with a pain-killing injection.

The club captain has not been risked for the trip to Ukraine, however, while Marcelo will also not feature after picking up a thigh injury during Real Madrid's 4-0 home defeat to Barcelona at the weekend.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale will both make the trip, however, while there is also a spot for Denis Cheryshev, who has struggled for first-team action this season.

Real Madrid have already booked their spot in the knockout stage of the Champions League with two games to spare.

Full squad

Goalkeepers: Navas, Casilla, Yanez

Defenders: Varane, Pepe, Nacho, Carvajal, Danilo

Midfielders: Kroos, James, Casemiro, Kovacic, Modric, Isco, Cheryshev

Attackers: Ronaldo, Bale, Benzema, Vasquez, Jese
