Xabi Alonso a doubt for Borussia Dortmund?

Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso emerges as an injury doubt for Wednesday's Champions League quarter-final first leg against Borussia Dortmund.

Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso has emerged as an injury doubt for Wednesday's Champions League quarter-final first leg against Borussia Dortmund at the Bernabeu.

The Spanish international started and finished the 5-0 win over Rayo Vallecano at the weekend.

However, Alonso was absent from Madrid's main training session on Monday, with the former Liverpool playmaker working inside the gym at the training ground, according to Marca.

Los Blancos will be without Marcelo, Sami Khedira, Alvaro Arbeloa and Jese Rodriguez for the first leg against the German outfit, who knocked Madrid out in the semi-finals of the competition last season.
