Real Madrid winger Jese Rodriguez is currently on course for Germany, where he will undergo treatment for his torn cruciate knee ligament.
The Spanish Under-21 international suffered the serious knee injury in the early stages of his side's 3-1 win over Schalke 04 in the second leg of their last-16 clash in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Subsequent scans revealed the extent of the damage and this afternoon, the attacker boarded a plane from Madrid alongside his agent.
According to reports in Spain, Ulrich Boenisch – the same surgeon that treated Madrid teammate Sami Khedira - will operate on the injury.
It is understood that the surgery will take place on Thursday.
