Half-Time Report: Falkirk holding Rangers at half time

Falkirk are holding Rangers at half time in their Scottish Championship clash.

Falkirk are holding Rangers at 0-0 at half time in the Scottish Championship.

The Gers can tighten their grip on second place with a win, while Falkirk must win to have any chance of reaching the promotion playoffs.

Rangers started the match on the front foot, with Darren McGregor and Marius Zaliukas both missing the target from set-piece situations.

Young striker Ryan Hardie tested Falkirk goalkeeper Jamie MacDonald for the first time in the ninth minute, and the 18-year-old, who scored twice on his full debut last week, was stopped again in the 11th minute.

It seemed only a matter of time before Rangers broke the deadlock with Haris Vuckic and Kenny Miller directing the ball on goal in the first 15 minutes.

Falkirk were able to withstand the early Rangers pressure, and their first chance came in the 20th minute when John Baird's shot, directed towards the top right corner, was saved by Cammy Bell. Blair Alston then saw his shot blocked a few minutes later.

Miller again tried to beat MacDonald from inside the area, but the former Hearts goalkeeper ensured that the score would remain level at half time.
