Thomas Tuchel slams his Paris Saint-Germain side after they suffered a 3-2 defeat at Monaco on Friday evening.

Thomas Tuchel has slammed his Paris Saint-Germain side after they let slip a 2-0 lead to lose at Monaco on Friday night.

The Ligue 1 champions were cruising at the break before their rivals pulled off an unlikely comeback, partly helped by Abdou Diallo's late red card.

Although PSG remain four points ahead of their most recent opponents, Tuchel has described the defeat as "catastrophic".

Speaking to Telefoot, Tuchel said: "Catastrophic? Yes, the second half. We controlled the game, we scored two goals, and we could have scored two more. The third was onside. We had opportunities.

"In the second half, we didn't have the same concentration. We weren't serious enough. We didn't recover the ball with the same quality, and we didn't seriously defend. We are completely responsible for this defeat, when the match was almost over in our favour.

"They felt it was 3-0 or 4-0 when it was only 2-0. I have no explanation. I have to accept all the criticism, because we have completely stopped playing, and we haven't done what is necessary to win."

The league leaders have now lost three of their 11 league matches this season, keeping Tuchel's job at Parc des Princes under threat.
