Scottish League One roundup: Rangers record 20th straight win

Rangers cruise to a 3-0 win over Ayr United in Scotland's League One, while extending their winning streak to 20 in all competitions.

Rangers have recorded their 20th successive victory in all competitions by brushing aside Ayr United 3-0 at Ibrox in the Scottish League One.

Goals from Jon Daly, Fraser Aird and Bilel Mohsni proved enough for Ally McCoist's men to achieve their 20-game winning streak and extend their lead at the summit of Scotland's third tier to 16 points after Dunfermline Athletic were held to a 1-1 draw with Forfar.

The Glaswegians could have boasted a 17-point lead if not for the intervention of Jordan Moore, who hit a last-gasp equaliser for Jim Jefferies's men after Darren Dods had given the visitors a 19th-minute lead.

Meanwhile, fellow promotion hopefuls Stranraer consolidated their grip on a playoff spot by beating Arbroath 2-1 at Gayfield Park.

Jamie Longworth was on hand to give the visitors the lead after just three minutes, before the advantage was negated by Steven Doris early in the second half.

However, Chris Aitken's 62nd-minute strike proved the difference as the hosts remain level on points with eighth-placed Brechin City, whose clash with Airdrie United was postponed due to snow.

Elsewhere, East Fife moved one point clear of the relegation zone after securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Stenhousemuir, with Gary Fisher's 40th-minute strike proving sufficient for Gordon Durie's men.

Results in full: Arbroath 1-2 Stranraer, Dunfermline Athletic 1-1 Forfar Athletic, East Fife 1-0 Stenhousemuir, Rangers 3-0 Ayr United
