Ian Baraclough frustrated after Motherwell fail to capitalise on red card

Ian Baraclough is frustrated that Motherwell failed to beat Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership despite playing against 10 men for the whole of the second half.

Ian Baraclough was frustrated that Motherwell could not beat Kilmarnock despite the point taking his team off the bottom of the Scottish Premiership table.

Scott McDonald equalised from a free kick after Tope Obadeyi gave Kilmarnock the lead, but Motherwell failed to capitalise on playing against 10 men for the whole of the second half after Darryl Westlake's red card.

"It slipped away from us a little bit," Baraclough told reporters. "We stopped doing what got us into good positions in the first half. We started running with the ball too much, rather than passing the ball. That's the important thing when you have a man overload.

"We didn't really make them work hard enough to go and win the ball back, because eventually they would have tired and we'd have created more openings to get chances.

"I was pleased in the main. Again, we're going in the right direction. They had one shot in the first half and they scored from it but we picked ourselves up and got the equaliser. I'm just disappointed that we didn't capitalise."

Motherwell still sit in a relegation playoff spot and are two points behind 10th-placed Ross County.
