Ralf Rangnick plans to implement some major changes to Manchester United's style of football upon his arrival, according to a report.

Ralf Rangnick is reportedly planning to implement some major changes to Manchester United's style of football once he is confirmed as the club's new interim head coach.

The 63-year-old is expected to manage the first team for the remainder of the 2021-22 campaign before taking on a consultancy role for the 20-time English champions.

According to The Telegraph, Rangnick is planning to make a number of changes, with the German set to demand that the players press higher up the pitch and increase their on-the-ball intensity.

The report also claims that the former RB Leipzig head coach wants to install a countdown clock at the club's training base, which will encourage players to improve their pressing.

Michael Carrick led Man United to a 2-0 victory over Villarreal in the Champions League on Tuesday and will again be in the dugout for Sunday's Premier League clash with Chelsea.

However, Rangnick could potentially be in charge for Thursday's game against Arsenal, providing that Lokomotiv Moscow allow him to leave, with the German currently working as head of sports and development at the club.
