Manchester United have been handed a double fitness boost ahead of Saturday's Premier League game against Bournemouth, with Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay both returning to first-team training.

Rashford was absent for last weekend's 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers due to a leg injury, while McTominay has been missing since the start of April with an unspecified issue.

The latter has not actually featured in the Premier League since the 2-0 victory over Everton on April 8.

However, both the Scotland international and Rashford were present in Man United training on Wednesday, as the team prepare for Saturday's trip to Bournemouth.

McTominay has again been a regular for the 20-time English champions this season, scoring three goals and registering one assist in 35 appearances in all competitions.

Rashford, meanwhile, has enjoyed his best season for the club, scoring 29 goals and registering 11 assists in 53 appearances in all competitions.

Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag will provide an update on the fitness of his squad when he speaks to the media on Friday ahead of the trip to the Cherries.

However, the presence of Rashford and McTominay during Wednesday's session suggests that the duo are likely to be back in the squad for the team's next match.

Man United had been in a comfortable position in the table when it comes to a top-four finish, but they are currently just one point clear of fifth-placed Liverpool.

The 20-time English champions still have a game in hand on the side directly below them, though, and they are level on points (66) and games (35) with third-placed Newcastle United.

Man United will head to Bournemouth on Saturday before welcoming Chelsea and Fulham in their final two league matches of the season, ahead of facing Manchester City in the FA Cup final on June 3.

The Red Devils have found it difficult to show their best form away from home this season, losing eight of their 18 matches, picking up just 24 points in the process.

However, only Liverpool (43) and Man City (49) have picked up more home points than Man United this term, with Ten Hag's side boasting 42 points from 17 league games at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have won their last two league games against Bournemouth, but they suffered a 1-0 loss when they last visited the Cherries in the Premier League back in November 2019.
