Roberto Firmino's record vs. Manchester United

Ahead of Saturday's blockbuster Premier League clash between Manchester United and Liverpool, Sports Mole looks at Roberto Firmino's record against the Red Devils.

English football's biggest and most famous contest will be played out for the 200th time when Manchester United welcome bitter rivals Liverpool to Old Trafford on Saturday lunchtime.

Both clubs have only been able to watch on as Manchester City waltz towards the Premier League title this season, but the battle to finish as runners-up behind Pep Guardiola's side is still very much alive.

Saturday's match could have a pivotal say in that with United currently sitting two points above Liverpool, while victory for either would also take them another step closer to securing Champions League football next season.

The Reds have dazzled in attack so far this season, and central to that form has been Roberto Firmino, who has scored 21 goals and registered 10 assists across all competitions.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how he has fared against this weekend's opponents in the past.

Firmino vs. Man Utd

In seven previous meetings with United, Firmino has only ended up on the winning side once - and that came in a Europa League clash in 2015-16 as Liverpool picked up a 2-0 win at Anfield to help them on their way to a 3-1 aggregate success.

That Europa League first leg also happens to be the only time Firmino has found the back of the net against the Red Devils, capping off the scoring at Anfield after Daniel Sturridge had broken the deadlock.

Firmino is still goalless and winless against United in the Premier League, then, losing both league games in his debut 2015-16 campaign before going on to draw the most recent three.

The Brazilian is also yet to taste victory at Old Trafford, drawing two and losing one of his three previous visits to the home of Liverpool's biggest rivals.

Firmino and his side are unbeaten in their last five matches against United across all competitions, though, with the most recent four of those all ending as draws.
