Barcelona players are reportedly still suffering on a mental level from the club's 4-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League last season.

Having secured a 3-0 win over Jurgen Klopp's side in the semi-final first leg, Barcelona suffered one of the worst capitulations in Champions League history at a raucous Anfield.

The result fell in line with Barcelona's surrendering of a 4-1 first leg aggregate lead to be dumped out of the Champions League quarter-finals by Roma over the 2017-18 season.

According to AS, some Barcelona players are said to be still feeling mentally fragile four months on from the defeat.

Luis Suarez, who was on the pitch for the Catalans that night, recently admitted that he did not want to leave his house for weeks after the result.

The Reds took the momentum of that victory into the final in Madrid, during which they produced a dominant performance to beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0.
